What A Week!

Well I promised myself I would keep up on this, and I did have to slack this past week. With a good reason though. So here is the highlight=)

My Back:
So Sunday before last, i woke up in the middle of the night laying flat on my back, normally I sleep on my side, and my lower back was really sore. I though maybe I just slept wrong and it will be better by morning. Oh No......It just got worse and worse all day long. When I woke up on Monday, I could barely move. Alexis woke up and I was a little worried. I managed to get her out of her crib, but almost dropped her. It scared the crap out of me. No position I was in made it feel any better. And if I turned slightly, my legs would go out on me. So I called Cal and he came home from work, got Alexis ready, and took me to the ER. They didn't have a normal doc appt until this week. Six hours later, I finally see the dr and they gave me a shot in my back and a ton of pills. I hate taking those pills becuase they knock me out, but luckily Cal was able to get a few days off so I could take the pills and relax. I am still sore and at my follow up appointment the doc told me to either try Yoga or do physical therapy. So I guess I am going to Yoga now. Hope I don't fart when I am in those interesting positions=)

Alexis:
My poor child is about to drive me crazy. I think she has been teething for the last week and a half, but since then she has aquired this high pitch whine/cry. And all she wants to do is be held. Not sitting in my lap while I am sitting, oh no, I must hold her while I am standing. If she only weighed 10 lbs. that might be fine, but dang, my arm feels like it is going to fall off. But I guess that is apart of being a parent=)

Our House:
We will be moved next Tuesday. But I think i want to strangle my leasing agent. This has been the most unprofessional business i have ever dealt with and I can't wait until we sign the house and be done with her. Unfortunately, she is the only leasing agent that deals with our housing area, so I have no one else to go to. I have kept my cool with her right now, but who knows how long that is going to last. Cal said she must be sleeping with one of the higher ups and that is the reason she gets away with so much crap.

On a light note:
This little girl cracked me up today. I took Alexis to the little park at our apartment complex and there was this little 4 year old there named Selena. She was telling me her life story=) Unsure of where her parents were, but that is another topic. Anyways, Alexis nose was running and the little girl was like your baby is sick. I looked at Alexis, saw the snot, and wiped it off. The little girl had a look of disgust and said "OOOhhhh she is Nasty" Kids say the darndest things

Some Pictures from this week:

She can be so happy
Her look just cracks me up

Our New House

Well we got into base housing. Cal and I decided that we were going to either try and rent a house or get into base housing when Alexis turned 1 so we could have more room and a backyard for her. Well here is our house that we got on base. Pretty nice for Base housing, huh? it is 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.
Cal is trying to retire out of El Paso, so this should be our home for about 4-5 years.

A Day at the Park

So we decided to head to the park yesterday. It was our first adventure to the park since Alexis has been walking. She had a blast.
I was a little worried at first with her walking with her shoes on. Alexis has never worn shoes before she could walk. When she started walking I decided to put shoes on her and my goodness she hated them. She would just stnad there and not even move. I was so suprised that she just took off walking and trying to run in her shoes when we got to the park=)

She loves the swing

Who We Are

Our blog title Says it all!
Cal and I met in Novemeber of '03. I say it was love at first sight. From the moment we met, everything just clicked. We met while we were both in Port Angeles, WA. I was working as the Office Manager at an Assisted Living and he was the Army recruiter in town. No, he wasn't recruiting me. We actually met through my roommates brother, whom Cal had put in the Army. We lived in sin for a while and married in Port Angeles on the water on July 16, 2005.
Shortly after that he got orders and we moved to El Paso (Fort Bliss), TX. And we absolutely love it here. We knew we wanted a child and tried for almost a year after moving here. I found out I was pregnant in the fall of '06 and then Cal deployed for 14 months to Iraq=(
We had a beautiful little girl named Alexis Carol on June 21, 2007. Fortunately, he was able to come home for a week after she was born and then came home for good in Dec when she was 6 months old.
So now we are just living life with our fun-loving one-year old and making the best of everything that comes our way
